The School of Languages and Cultures in The University of Queensland is one of the largest Schools of language instruction in Australia with over 40 academic staff. The School teaches Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish, as well as Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, to students in the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of International Studies, the university-wide concurrent Diploma in Languages, the Diploma of Arts, and dual degree programs.
The role
The School is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Russian language and studies, specialising in one or more of the following areas: linguistics, applied linguistics, cultural studies, literature, translation and interpreting, or related fields. The successful appointee will engage in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate supervision, undertake and contribute to further development of the School’s Russian program, as well as performing research, service/engagement and other activities associated with the School.
The person
Applicants should possess a PhD in a relevant area of Russian language and linguistics, cultural studies, literature, translation and interpreting, or related fields. The applicant should also have demonstrated expertise and experience in undergraduate teaching. The applicant should also have a record of high quality research publications appropriate to the level of the appointment.

Remuneration
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for two (2) years at Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $89,458 – $106,232 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $104,666 – $124,291 p.a.).
