Job Description
We are looking for passionate individuals from different backgrounds who can work in the Eastern suburbs, Inner City and in the Northern suburbs Roseville, Lindfield, Chatswood, Artarmon, Lane Cove and Ryde to join our team to provide support to our aged clients to remain in their homes living active and independent lives.
You will support and assist with a wide range of daily living activities including personal care, cleaning/domestic assistance, meal preparation, respite, shopping, transport to/from appointments and day programs, and other activities.
We are looking for people from all different backgrounds who have:

A passion for working with the elderly and desire to support older people with daily living activities
• Some experience working with the elderly (personal and volunteer experience count!)
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of the elderly and their carers
• Have a driver’s licence and own car
• Comprehensive car insurance
• First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Knowledge of Russian language is an advantage.
Please note that you must be available to work minimum 3 days, minimum 15-20 hours per week from Monday to Friday from 09.00 – 17.00.
Desired Skills and Experience
Although it is not essential, it would be great if you have professional experience working in the aged care sector and hold a relevant qualification (Certificate III in Aged Care or similar).
This is a community-based position, so the successful candidate will be required to travel to people’s homes and provide one-on-one assistance. The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to work in a home environment.

Job Description
Burger Centre offers a diverse range of leisure programs for older people to continue to feel connected with the community with a strong sense of purpose and fulfilment. The programs on offer include Respite for Carers, Social Support and Wellness. The Burger Centre is a joint partnership between Montefiore and Jewish Care and is funded by Communal and Commonwealth Home Support Program Funding.
Due to expansion Burger Centre is looking for experienced and qualified Bilingual Leisure and Lifestyle Worker who can facilitate programs in Russian & English in Randwick and Hunters Hill. This is a dynamic role to support seniors living in the community to remain connected to community, create friendships and enjoy their leisure time in a group environment. You should be able to work minimum 3 days per week (non-consecutive days) with one being Wednesday.
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed persons to join our team working with Seniors. You will be responsible for facilitating a range of social and leisure activities across a range of cognitive, cultural, creative, physical, spiritual and social domains. The successful applicants will have a strong person centre contemporary approach to delivery of service.
The salary is based on the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2010, the salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential
- Qualifications in Diversional Therapy / Certificate IV in Leisure & Health/Certificate III in Individual support/Aged Care/ Creative Therapies;
- An understanding of the Aged Care Standards;
- A current First Aid Certificate including CPR;
- Experience working with people living with Dementia or other cognitive impairments;
- Excellent communications skills;
- Strong Computer skills including Office Suite as well as Client Management System;
- Program planning and facilitation;
- Person Centre approach;
Desirable
- Minimum 3 years’ experience;
- An understanding of Jewish culture and traditions;
- Current LR Drivers Licence.
